EITHER WE CHANGE OR WE ARE EXTINGUISHED!

Through the recent survey that I published on Linkedin, under the heading “This is the level of awareness and compassion that exists in the world today…”, several facts can be deduced about the reality of current human behavior, their interests and degrees of commitment to help others.
The survey question was: “Do you agree to ask governments to approve 2% of global GDP per year to end extreme poverty and global warming?”
Published on the Climate Change Professionals Group, it was viewed by 4,399 people within 21 hours. Only 81 voted. There were 72 votes in favor and 9 against. 89% and 11% respectively of the voter pool. Almost all linked to the environmental cause.
There were 4,318 who abstained from voting and remained indifferent. That is, 98.15%. This data explains the dominant cause of why progress is not made faster, in the implementation of global environmental measures, to stop global warming immediately. There is not enough pressure. Most people don’t participate. She’s not really interested. They still mistakenly think that there is a lot of time available before the situation really gets worse, that the problem will be faced by future generations.
The problem is that new scientific reports are warning that positive feedbacks may hyperaccelerate the climate anomaly and tipping points or phase changes in the planet’s thermoequilibrium will occur within the next 5 to 10 years. So we have run out of reservation time.
Incredibly among the group of those who voted negatively are environmentalists, who thus expressed their disagreement with applying a global financing measure to end extreme poverty and global warming.
But this is not all, the witness group was within the so-called “environmentalists” or “ecologists”, people who are informed, know about the subject, act and make decisions.
The same poll published on public Linkedin only obtained 39 visits and two votes in favor in the same period of 21 hours. Directly the subject is not perceived as important by common people, addicted to other professional and private interests.
Conclusion: with this low level of commitment to the problems of hunger, extreme poverty and global warming, we are on a path that can lead us towards complete chaos. Either we change or we become extinct… It’s that simple!
