AI AND ROBOTS WILL BREAK THE OLD SYSTEM OF HUMAN WORK AND CAPITAL, HOW TO ADAPT TO CHANGE?

AI AND ROBOTS WILL BREAK THE OLD SYSTEM OF HUMAN WORK AND CAPITAL, HOW TO ADAPT TO CHANGE?

Ray Kurzweil, Google’s director of engineering, recently predicted that by 2029 robots will reach human-like levels of intelligence.

Gartner, an information technology research and advisory firm, also predicted that a third of today’s jobs will be replaced by intelligent software, robots and machines by 2025.

The Overseas Development Institute estimates that between 2038 and 2042 robotic automation will be cheaper than workers in Ethiopia, one of the countries with the lowest labor costs in the world.

This is already definitive: with robots as intelligent or more than humans and at a quarter of the cost, it is not possible to compete, they will be left with 100% of the labor market, including the professional with an average of 2050/80. Are we prepared for this? What will be our overall socioeconomic strategy?

Is it the solution to apply high taxes to companies that use robots to stop the loss of employment due to the evolution in the design of artificial intelligence?

If we do this, at least the ongoing restructuring of the global cyber tax system will put pressure on companies to choose to hire more humans. Today how the system works operates in the opposite direction. Now, if robots become smarter and more efficient than humans at all tasks, the global replacement will be irreversible and total.

Today a robot is a capital good and can be taxed, but when self-aware AI is reached, it will be an entity and the debate will begin about whether we should recognize rights within our new biocybernetic society.

So again what to do? If we allow the capital system to continue to evolve as it is now, dangerous hypertrophies will occur. Humans will be almost entirely replaced by smarter and more efficient AIs and robots, thus completing the transfer of the planet’s means of production to these systems. And what will happen? The owners of large companies and multinationals will accumulate capital, they will take over the entire system, they will exercise absolute control.

In this way, a new supercaste of dominators will be created, who will be above all the dominated, that is, 99.9999% of the world population.

How to avoid it? Once the transfer of the means of production to automated systems begins to accelerate, governments can decide that all production goods become community, collective goods and their benefits are shared among the world population, which will receive an income permanent minimum lifetime.

But in exchange for receiving this income, all future citizens must fulfill community service tasks and dedicate themselves to studying and producing in science, technology, art, philosophy and religion. Otherwise they will lose the benefit.
